How it all began
Dace
Dace is a Latvian latviete who is passionate about travelling, adventure, nature, animals, and human relations.
She was born in Engure, a fishermen village surrounded by forests, sea, and nature. It was then when she gained her sense of curiosity about what is behind that tree.
She went to London when she was 18 years old, which turned out to be her first big venture out of her beloved country.
In there she graduated in Hospitality Management and worked in different establishments until she got a management position in 2012 when she met and hired Jesus. After a year of working together, she fired him, pushing him away to work with Autistic people, and they started a beautiful relationship.
Jesus encouraged Dace to cycle in London and she discovered that it was exciting! Little by little the bike was getting more panniers, and they were going places from, as little of 3 days, to up to a month.
No matter where we go or for how long, What matters is that we go together and we have each others backs when the road is challenging.
Our travel philosophy
We are self-supported. We travel using a bicycle and 5 pannier bags to store our material.
WheelPrint is a blog where you can find our latest adventures, advice and projects. By travelling slow, we connect better with the people, the place, the culture and the soul. We would like to inspire our readers to achieve their dreams and projects.
We leave our print in this world, and it is up to us to decide how big do we want it to be. The goal of this trip is to involve the thought process in every aspect of our lives, questioning what we need for the journey and what is an accessory. That will make a print, not only in the environment but also in ourselves. WheelPrint is a project of self-development, which also aim to help and inspire others to live a more conscious life.
Jesus
Jesus was born in Madrid, Spain. He is passionate about cycle touring since he was a little child. Always curious about “What´s like after turning the corner”. His favourite way of travelling is on a bicycle. Also loves photography, writing, psychology and Joaquin Sabina´s music.
He has ridden through many places before attempting a World tour, including France´s west coast, The Camino de Santiago in Spain, Sardinia in Italy, many other places inland in Spain, Norway, and cycling on the Canary Islands in 2016 on his honeymoon with Dace.
After graduating in Psychology he went off to London in 2012 to work with people with Autism and advocate for a better understanding and life for them.
Dace and Jesus got together in 2013 when they started small cycling trips. Jesus´s dream was always to do a big tour, and it didn´t take long to get Dace into the same dream, so after getting married in 2016, they decided to set a starting date for their new big venture.
One day we decided to change the chairs of our offices for the saddles of our bicycles, and we set off from London with the intention to ride around the world on two wheels.
Since the 9th of July, we have peddled over 5000 km. During this time we are learning a few things. We are learning how to savour freedom, we are learning the value of the immaterial, and we are meeting people who are teaching us the importance of the immaterial.
To travel is the best antidote against discrimination, ad it teaches you a great deal about others, whilst you are in a humble posit
We don’t know where we'll be in a month or in a year. We do what we are passionate for as long as we want, always trying out new experiences and going with them. In the end, everybody is going to get fed
